  • The Mexican tariff consists of by three parts:Tax+VAT(16%)+customs handling fee(0.08%)

  • Mexico’s tariff rate inquiry URL is cumbersome and cannot be searched. You have to manually click in line by line
  • The tariff project has 22 chapters,from section I to section XXII 

Introduction to query steps

  • 1st:Find out roughly which section your product belongs to and find the first two digits of the HS code
  • 2nd:Find the chapter where the last four digits of the HS code are located according to the position of the first two HScode
  • 3rd: the column where the IGI is located is the tariff
  • 4th:the final tariff:Tax10%+VAT16%+customs handling fee(0.08%)=26.08%
  • Note that the tariff rates can vary depending on the product and the country of origin. Therefore, it is important to check the specific tariff fraction for your product to get the most accurate information.
  • keep in mind that importing goods into Mexico may require additional permits, licenses, or certifications, depending on the product and its intended use.
